In full construction mode of the plans initially announced in 2009, Walt Disney World Resort of Florida continues to work on the Magic Kingdom Fantasyland expansion. While many of the details of this construction have been released before, Disney has given us even further information which actually include a new attraction.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Disney Image)

To be called the “Seven Dwarfs Mine Train,” this new ride takes guests into the world of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs made popular by the Walt Disney movie released in 1937. According to Disney, the attraction will include a “first-of-its kind ride system with a train of ride vehicles that swing back and forth as they whisk along the track.” While enjoying the attraction, guests will be treated to music from the classic movie as well as animated figures of the cast.

Additional plans call for other new additions to Fantasyland including a new Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction. This is billed as another ride which will take you into the world of the Little Mermaid and surround you with the characters and music made popular in the 1989 Disney movie release.

A new castle is also to be included in the additions – don’t worry, it will not replace Cinderella Castle. This new feature is Beast’s Castle which will house the Be Our Guest Restaurant said to seat 500. The restaurant will operate as a quick service establishment for lunch and a table service restaurant in the evening. Belle’s Village will surround the castle and include additional locations like Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts, all themed like the Beauty and the Beast movie released in 1991.

Don’t forget about the new Storybook Circus area where guests of all ages can enjoy the interactive experiences. Also found in this section will be the popular Dumbo the Flying Elephant Ride and a re-branded Goofy’s Barnstormer kids roller-coaster.

There are also plans for another “castle” of sorts – the Princess Fairytale Hall. Located here will be the meet-and-greets for those princesses of Disney fame like Cinderella, Aurora, Tiana, etc.

Most of this Magic Kingdom Fantasyland expansion should be open and available for enjoyment by 2013.
