Those visiting the theme parks of the Walt Disney World Resort over the next couple of days will be happy to know that Disney has special Fourth of July festivities planned for those in attendance. Of course, Disney World is a great place to be any time of the year, but holidays such as this provide an opportunity to Disney to expand on their current offerings.

Anyone who has visited Disney World knows that it is filled with items of a patriotic nature. This all stems from the love Walt Disney himself had for the country.

Just walk in Magic Kingdom and one of the first things you notice is an American Flag flying high above at the entrance to Main Street, USA. In fact, Disney offers a flag retreat ceremony everyday at the location. You will also find many more American Flags (or at least flags that resemble it) throughout Main Street.

The Carousel of Progress has a section designed around the 4th of July holiday. It is the 1920’s section where the family discusses the many electrical conveniences they now have.

And let’s not forget Liberty Square of the Magic Kingdom. Among other things it hosts the Hall of Presidents where audio-animatronic Presidents are found.

Of course, patriotic themes can be found at other locations in Disney World as well. For instance, the American Adventure in Epcot is a great place to be if you are looking for that patriotic feeling.

Special events planned just for the holiday this year include “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” at the Magic Kingdom at 9PM on July 3rd and 4th. In Epcot, Illuminations will be augmented with “The Heartbeat of Freedom.” Showtime is 10PM. Even Disney’s Hollywood Studios is in on the celebrations with the “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration” fireworks show. This show starts on July 4th at 9:45 PM.
