It appears it is that time of year again as the Walt Disney World Resort has announced changes to its ticket pricing. Yes, this means increased ticket prices for you and me.

The new Disney World ticket prices went into effect this morning, June 2, 2013. Those looking to purchase their tickets directly from Disney will be required to pay the new prices immediately. The last ticket price increase went into effect on June 3, 2012.

For those able to make their ticket purchases from an authorized third-party ticket seller, the old prices may still be available for a short time. Those re-sellers generally buy a lot of tickets in advance meaning they purchased the tickets at the old price structure and are able to pass that discount on to you.

In addition, those individuals who reserved a package before the changes were announced should also be entitled to the old prices – assuming no changes are made to their package.

The chart below offers the old and new pricing structures for the theme park tickets of Disney World. Also shown is the dollar increase to those tickets as well as the percentage change.

New for 2013, Disney World will now charge a premium for one day tickets to the Magic Kingdom theme park. Those opting for that choice will pay $95 for the one day ticket. Visitors to one of the other three theme parks can get the one day option for $90.

Aside from that new wrinkle, the other options remained the same – with the exception of the increased prices. That one-day ticket to either Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom saw the smallest jump with the changes going up just $1, or 1.1%

Showing the biggest increase in both dollars and percentage was the Regular Florida Resident Annual Pass. That pass went up $39, or 9.2%.

The smaller multi-day Magic Your Way tickets also saw a big bump. For instance, the 4-day ticket option went from $256 to $279 – a $23 increase, or 8.9%.

To purchase your tickets and for more information, contact Disney World or your travel agent.
