Ticket prices have increased at the Walt Disney World Resort (effective February 23, 2014) which has caught most everyone by surprise. That surprise is not based on the increases alone but more on the timing of them.
For the last several years, it has been common practice for Disney World to increase the price of park tickets annually. However, those increases have traditionally come in the summer months making this most recent change a bit of an anomaly.

It appears it is that time of year again as the Walt Disney World Resort has announced changes to its ticket pricing. Yes, this means increased ticket prices for you and me.
The new Disney World ticket prices went into effect this morning, June 2, 2013. Those looking to purchase their tickets directly from Disney will be required to pay the new prices immediately. The last ticket price increase went into effect on June 3, 2012.

Multiple sources have confirmed that the two theme parks of the Disneyland Resort in California have begun aggressive enforcement against the practice known as ticket renting. The increased scrutiny into the practice started several days ago and appears as if it will remain for the foreseeable future.
Guests attempting to use any 4 or 5 day ticket at either Disneyland or its sister park, Disney California Adventure Park, will be directed towards special gates at those respective parks. Here on All Things Mouse, we have recently been discussing the many different flavors of theme park tickets available at Walt Disney World Resort. This has included the basic tickets and options to those tickets such as park hopper, water parks fun and more and the no expiration option.

Closing out this thread on general park admission will be a quick discussion on the No Expiration option. As the name implies, when purchased in addition to a standard park ticket, this option keeps that park ticket from expiring until all purchased (and/or options) days have been used.
