Walt Disney World has released the Park Hours for February 2011. These hours will be appreciated by those planning their early 2011 trips to the World and are ready to book their dining reservations – remember 180-days out!
Hours are posted below for all four of the Walt Disney World Parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studies and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The operating schedule for the water parks is also available, but easy to remember. Blizzard Beach is closed the entire month for refurbishment while Typhoon Lagoon operates daily from 10AM – 5PM.
EMH (Extra Magic Hours) are noted on the calendar as well. For those who do not know what EMH is, they are additional hours when the parks are open, but only to select guests such as those who stay at one of the many Disney Resort hotels on-property. There are morning EMH hours and evening EMH hours. For the morning EMH, a select park will open one hour early, but only to those guests who qualify. Evening EMH hours occur when a park stays open up to three hours late. Once again, only for those guests who qualify.

Those planning a summer visit to Walt Disney World will be interested to know that a new celebration is planned for those months known as Summer Nightastic! Beginning on June 6, 2010 and running through August 14th, the additional festivities are sure to add a little magic to the guest’s experience.
Probably the most anticipated addition for the celebration will occur at the Magic Kingdom, with the return of Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade. This parade can trace its roots back to 1972 when a version first opened on the streets of Disneyland. Since that time, it has been appearing in one form or another around the world at Disney’s other parks including having been previously at the Magic Kingdom in Florida. [click to continue…]
Those who really enjoy Walt Disney World during the holidays will be pleased to know that Disney has released the dates for the special Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for the Christmas season this year.
This is exciting news for those who are ready to plan their winter trip but is probably horrifying for those who think it is way to early to think about such things – those same people were probably concerned over the announced Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dates.
Still, Walt Disney World is an exciting place to be during the holidays. The parks, along with all of the resorts, pull out all the stops to decorate for the season. There are special activities offered that revolve around the season as well.
But, back to the Very Merry Christmas Party specifically – This event offers a special parade, special fireworks, special character greetings and holiday treats offered throughout the Magic Kingdom. All of this is in addition to most of the normal Magic Kingdom rides and attractions that are still offered during the party hours. [click to continue…]
Tucked away in the very back of Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World is a meet and greet area for one of Disney’s best loved princesses. Called Ariel’s Grotto, the alcove is located between the Pinocchio Village Haus restaurant and Pooh’s Playful Spot.
Ariel, of course, was made famous in the 1989 Disney animated blockbuster “The Little Mermaid.” She was portrayed as the rebellious daughter of King Triton, ruler of the seas. Her biggest desire was to shed her flipper and grow two legs to join man on land (and fall in love). [click to continue…]

Splash Mountain, located in Frontierland of the Magic Kingdom, is one of the must-do rides of the entire park. Only the foolish will miss taking this ride in (unless it is cold out, and even then the ride tends to attract quite a few riders).

Tom Sawyer Island, located in Frontierland of the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, is truly one of the most remote locations you can find in the park. It is surrounded by the waters of the Rivers of America and requires a raft ride to get to and from the island.
Walt Disney, the creator of the Disney empire, really loved trains. In fact he even had a large toy railroad built in his own backyard which he named the Carolwood Pacific Railroad. Keeping this in mind, it is not surprising that Walt included a railroad when he created his first theme park, Disneyland.
