Walt Disney World

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, Walt Disney World is in full holiday swing with Christmas trees, lights and other decorations adorning all the parks and resorts.

Holiday decorating is nothing new for the World.  They have been doing so basically since it opened in the 70′s, and it seems each year something new is added, or something is changed to make a more unique experience for the annual visitors.

In recognition of Halloween, we thought you might like to know that the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom of Disney World started 14 years ago today on October 31, 1995.

While the party of that year we are sure was special, Disney has since taken it to a whole new level.  The special event now requires a separate ticket purchase of $64 for adults.  This ticket entitles entrance to the Magic Kingdom during party hours.  The park is closed to anyone not having a Not So Scary ticket. As reported yesterday on All Things Mouse, Princess Tiana made her premiere in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World today.  The musical affair known as Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee takes place on the Liberty Belle riverboat in Frontierland.

In a unique entrance, Tiana and her party appear from beside the Diamond Horseshoe and dance and sing their way to the Liberty Belle.  Once aboard, the music is almost non-stop with numbers such as “Gonna Take You There,” “Almost There” and “When We’re Human.” Continue reading “Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee Premiered Today At WDW” »

Walt Disney World has released the January 2010 park hours for its 4 theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) and its 2 water parks (Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.  For those planning their upcoming vacation (perhaps taking advantage of the buy 4 get 3 free special) this release will be of immense interest.

Typhoon Lagoon takes the baton from Blizzard Beach on January 10th.  Before that date, Blizzard Beach will operate while Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment.  On the 10th, Blizzard Beach shuts down for its annual maintenance.  Both parks maintain a 10AM until 5PM schedule while they are operating. Halloween Party Transformations at Magic Kingdom

by All Things Mouse Staff on September 28, 2009
Walt Disney World

The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World tranforms this time of year to prepare for “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.”  While these parties require special tickets to attend, anyone in Magic Kingdom earlier in the day (or on days the party is not held) can enjoy the special decorations.

While I doubt very many would say these decorations are anywhere near as spectacular as the Christmas decorations, I think everyone would agree they are fun to see!  In fact, take a look at this whimsical video of the decorations going up for an idea on what is there.
