Disney Vacation Club

Due to open its doors in the fall of 2011, and currently under construction, the Disney Hawaiian Resort has been officially given the name of Aulani : A Disney Resort & Spa. Consisting of 21 acres, which will include 360 hotel rooms and 481 Disney Vacation Club Villas, the resort marks the first Vacation Club destination outside of the continental United States and only the second to not be located near one of the company’s theme parks.

The term “Aulani” comes from the local Hawaiian language and means either “the place that speaks for the great ones” or “the place that speaks with deep messages.” Either definition conveys Disney’s intent to tie the resort into the history and customs of the Hawaiian culture. [click to continue…]
