With all the emphasis on the Free Dining Special from Walt Disney World (which is extended well into next year), it might be of interest to many that Disney is also offering a couple of other specials.
While these specials are nothing new, it should be noted that at times, some may want to consider them instead of the free dining. This is not to say that free dining is not an extraordinary discount for many, it is just a fact that at times, the special is not available, or is not the best deal available for certain situations.

Walt Disney World has announced that the much anticipated new restaurant in the Italy pavilion of Epcot known as Via Napoli will begin accepting reservations on August 6, 2010 - for meals beginning on September 10th.
The restaurant will actually be open starting on August 5, 2010 when Disney holds the “Grand Opening,” but this first month of operation will be considered a soft opening. Some were concerned if the new restaurant would accept the Disney Dining Plan, but Disney indicates it will. Dining at Walt Disney World can be one of the most fun aspects of your vacation! This is especially true if you choose to dine at some of the character meals they have available. Select dining experiences offer the chance to interact with and get photos or autographs with some of your favorite characters.
Typically, you’ll need to make an ADR (Advanced Dining Reservation) for the meals you choose for the date and time that you plan to attend the character meal. Some meals will need a credit card deposit and some of the most popular selections sell out quickly, so you may need to be ready to call 180 days before your trip. Just call Disney Dining to see what’s available for your vacation and ask any questions you might have.

Once in, a Cast Member informs the guests that they should place their food orders first before sitting down. After they have received their orders, another cast member directs them to an available table. Continue reading “Disney World Tests New Dining Assistance Program” »
