Suspicious Package Found Under Disney Transportation Bus

Around 3PM this afternoon, a suspicious package was spotted under a Walt Disney World bus by a maintenance worker.  After consulting with his supervisor, they phoned the Sheriff’s Office and shortly after that all Disney buses were pulled from service.

In order to maintain somewhat of a normal day for the Disney Resort guests, taxicab service was significantly enhanced.

Meanwhile all of the Disney buses were lined up on an internal access road to be pulled in one by one to an inspection center.  Evidently, once each bus was cleared it was put back into service.

The suspicious package was going to be inspected by a robot and x-ray machines.  An investigation is still under way to determine how and why the package was attached to the bus.

We at All Things Mouse can not begin to describe how disturbing this is.  While no facts are available as of yet, it is nonetheless disturbing to think of what could happen.

At the same time, it is hard to believe that anyone with a real malicious intent would be content with only affecting one bus.  We hope this is just all some strange occurrence.

Also, it must be quite interesting at the World right now, even with buses being added back to the system.  I am sure those who were kept informed will still opt for alternate transportation.

One final note: It appears that in order to alleviate some of the congestion in the late afternoon hours, Disney opted to extend the Water Park hours until 6PM and Animal Kingdom until 7PM.
