Special 4th of July Celebrations at Walt Disney World

No stranger to special celebrations, Walt Disney World has released some details about its plans for the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

To help celebrate the anniversary of American Independence, the Magic Kingdom will feature a special fireworks show called the “Celebrate America Fireworks”.  The show will blast above the skys at Magic Kingdom beginning at 9PM on the 4th.  Following the fireworks, Disney’s “Main Street Electrical Parade” will be offered at both 10PM and midnight.  The park is open from 8AM-1AM.

Aside from the normal Fantasmic shown at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the park also plans a special a special show at 9:50PM using fireworks set to a Rock ‘N’ Roll soundtrack.  Park hours here are 9AM-10PM on the 4th.

Finally, Epcot has plans for a few special opportunities related to the 4th of July.  The ever-impressive “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” will be supplemented with a special patriotic finale.  Illuminations begins at 10PM.  Also, an expanded cast of Voices of Liberty (the acappella group normally found in the America Pavilion of World Showcase) will be joined at 12:30, 1:45 and 3 on the America Gardens Theatre stage by the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps and Disney characters.

Epcot will also offer character interactions with Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin near the American Adventure.

So, if you have not made any plans for the 4th – perhaps a quick trip to Disney World is in your future!
