The fact that an attraction may be closed for refurbishment when you plan to visit either Walt Disney World Resort of Florida or Disneyland Resort of California is likely not to force you to cancel your plans for a trip, it is nonetheless informative to know which attractions will be down during your visit. With that in mind, we at All Things Mouse have put together this list of currently known scheduled refurbishments for both resorts.
As with all things Disney, this list is likely to change as are the effective dates for the scheduled refurbishments. Still, it does give an idea of what to expect.
Walt Disney World Resort Scheduled Refurbishments
Currently the Magic Kingdom only has three attractions scheduled to be closed for refurbishment currently and in the coming months. This includes the Swiss Family Treehouse which closed on September 8 and should re-open on November 17th. It also includes Dumbo the Flying Elephant scheduled to closed on January 9th, 2012 and re-open on February 17, 2012 likely down as part of the Fantasyland expansion. Finally, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is listed to be down for an extended period beginning on January 9, 2012 until May 27, 2012.
