Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Celebrates Anniversary

In recognition of Halloween, we thought you might like to know that the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom of Disney World started 14 years ago today on October 31, 1995.

While the party of that year we are sure was special, Disney has since taken it to a whole new level.  The special event now requires a separate ticket purchase of $64 for adults.  This ticket entitles entrance to the Magic Kingdom during party hours.  The park is closed to anyone not having a Not So Scary ticket. Those who do attend get access to the park from 7PM to Midnight with many of them dressing up in costumes (both adults and children).  During this time, a special Boo To You Parade is held as well as the “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks show.  Treats are also handed out by cast members.

Besides the festivities, many guests enjoy the park during this special celebration because of the limited number of tickets sold.  Ride times are usually significantly lower as a much more limited number of guests are allowed in during the party than during a normal day.

When it was first introduced in 1995, the special party was held only on October 31st.  It has been gradually growing every year since and ran over 20 different nights beginning way back in September.

To give you an idea of the fun you can have at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, below is a video of the special parade. (Thanks to ThemeParkSushi for the clip!)
