In a move that is sure to bring a smile to many faces (if not a joyous scream), Disney has announced that the Disneyland Park will host Mickey’s Halloween Party on select evenings this fall.

Disney is no stranger to Halloween activities – take Walt Disney World, for example. It has long run the very successful  Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom.

Even celebrating the event at Disneyland is not new.  Parties were held at the original Disney Park for years before they were moved across the promenade to Disney’s California Adventure in 2005.  Now they have returned to Disneyland which is sure to be a big hit with Disney patrons.

The new event offers several pluses for those who opt on buying the special ticket.  One of the main benefits is the fact that a limited number of the event tickets are sold resulting in crowd levels being much lower than on an average Disney day.  This allows ticket-holders to take part in their favorite attractions and rides without having as long (if any) wait times.

Speaking of rides and attractions, Disney even decks some of them out specially for Halloween.  Notable among them are the Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy.

Attendees are also treated to a special Halloween Screams Fireworks Spectacular not seen during normal operating nights.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their own costumes for the night as long as they meet certain guidelines.  This gives guests the opportunity for photographs that will be quite unique among their Disney collection.  Also, many characters will be out for meet and greets adding to the photograph chances.

Special treat stations will be setup throughout the park giving kids and adults the opportunity to trick-or-treat right on Disneyland grounds.  Disney notes that healthy options will be available in addition to the standard candy.

Guests who purchase a ticket for the Halloween Party will also be allowed to enter the theme park up to three hours earlier than the party start time of 6PM or 7PM (depending on the selected night).

Listed event dates are October 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29, 31.

Tickets will be available for sale beginning on July 16, 2010.  No price has been announced yet.
