As mentioned last year, Epcot’s Lights of Winter was discontinued owing to what Disney explained as obsolete technology. Many will be glad to hear that at least the music for the show has returned.

Before the Lights of Winter were cancelled, guests were treated for years to shows of light and music  on the walkway leading from Future World to World Showcase.  Upwards of 30,000 lights were strung on archways spanning the walkway.  These lights were then choreographed to holiday music providing for an enchanting scene.

Now it has been reported that at least the music has returned and is being used at the Fountain of Nations which features “dancing water.”  While this does not make up for the loss of the beloved Lights of Winter, at least it is a nod to the classic attraction.

To see what the Lights of Winter were, see the video shown below as provided by eduardoteach40.

The new music at the Fountain of Nations is just one of the attractions tied to the holiday at Disney World.  Guests visiting at this time will also want to consider taking in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom.  These are in addition to the decorations and other holiday events taking place at Walt Disney World.
