While leaving the attraction itself basically unaffected, Walt Disney World is in the process of updating the queue and gift shops associated with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride.

Located in Fantasyland of the Magic Kingdom, the Pooh Ride first opened in June 1999.  It was remained relatively unchanged since then until these new enhancements.

Considered a “Dark Ride”, the Pooh Adventure has guests hopping into a honey pot for a trip through the world of Pooh including the homes of many of the Pooh characters.  Pooh is even shown falling asleep leading guests into the dream world of Heffalumps and Woozles.

Now, Disney is “Plus-ing” the attraction with an updated queue and a new Hundred Acre Goods gift shop which contains Pooh-related apparel, plush and other gifts.  Under construction for several weeks, the new shop is now open but construction remains ongoing.

All guests will be temporarily directed to the FastPass lane while crews add interactive elements to the standard queue.  These new elements will allow kids to play in Rabbit’s Garden, jump with Tigger and crawl through Eeyore’s house.

During the continued construction, FastPass distribution will be discontinued for the ride until the new queue is open.  Once it does re-open, FastPass distribution for Winnie the Pooh will be offered at Mickey’s Philharmagic where it will remain for the duration of the Fantasyland expansion.

Thanks to GroteABot who provided the video of the ride shown above.
