With less than a month and a half before the Walt Disney World Resort will be in the full swing of the holiday season, it is not to surprising to find out that the list of narrators for the Candelight Processional in Epcot is almost complete.
Most recently, the theme park has announced that Susan Lucci, well-known star of the ABC daytime drama “All My Children,” has been added to the line-up. She will narrate the Christmas Story on December 5th and December 6th while having a mass choir and live 50-piece orchestra back her.
The Candlelight Processional is a long-standing Disney tradition. It originally started in Disneyland in 1958. When Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, a version of it was added to the Magic Kingdom park. That show was moved from the Magic Kingdom to its current location of the American Garden Theaters of Epcot in 1994.
Literally dozens, if not hundreds, of different stars have fulfilled the role of narrator since the first showing. And many guests have been known to schedule their holiday trip around the dates of the show to insure they get an opportunity to attend.
As it stands right now, the current line-up of narrators is:
11/26/10 – 11/28/10 — Isabella Rossellini
11/29/10 – 12/01/10 — TBD
12/02/10 – 12/04/10 — Corbin Bernsen
12/05/10 – 12/06/10 — Susan Lucci
12/07/10 – 12/09/10 — Jodi Benson
12/10/10 – 12/11/10 — Whoopi Goldberg
12/12/1010 – 12/15/10 — Steven Curtis Chapman
12/16/10 – 12/18/10 — Thomas Gibson
12/19/10 – 12/21/10 — Trace Adkins
12/22/10 – 12/23/10 — Brad Garrett
12/24/10 – 12/27/10 — Edward James Olmos
12/28/10 – 12/30/10 — Marlee Matlin/Jack Jason
This schedule is subject to change without notice.
The show is free to all with a valid park ticket for the day to Epcot. However, seating is limited. Those wanting to insure a seat will want to consider one of the dinner packages discussed before on All Things Mouse.
