Walt Disney World guests with small children who are visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios will want to make sure to take a few minutes out of their busy day to let those kids explore Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure. This attraction is located in the Streets of America Area and offers a chance for everyone to stretch their legs a bit after possibly standing in line for other attractions of the theme park.
For those who have not visited the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, it is a 11,000 square foot play area for all the younger children
While it may have been designed for kids, however, in true Disney fashion, the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure offers something for everyone in that all will at least enjoy walking through the odd playground.
The attraction is based on the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids movie that was released by Disney in 1989. If have have had the chance to catch the movie, you will know that it involves Professor Wayne Szalinski who has invented a machine to shrink items down to miniscule sizes. While the invention was created with good intentions, the crux of the story involves his two kids and the neighbor kids accidentally being shrunk and ending up in the yard.
These kids are smaller than the size of an ant which means the yard becomes a huge forest of grass in which they are left to fend for themselves. It is precisely this location that the Movie Set play area recreates.
“Blades of grass” were created towering 30-feet high with other household items strown about also appearing massive in size like paper clips and lego blocks.
All in all, the kids will have a fun time climbing around the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure and the adults will be in awe of the play area as well. Do yourself and your kids a favor, and stop by.
