Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is one of the moderate resorts of Walt Disney World in Florida. Coronado Springs is designed with a Southwestern US – Mexican theme and is the only moderate resort to be built with conventions and business travel in mind.

Coronado Springs Resort opened on August 1, 1997. It consists of three guest areas (Casitas, Rancheros and Cabanas) all surrounding the 22-acre Lago Dorado Lake. The resort boasts a total of 1,921 rooms each with approximately 314 square feet. Since the resort was built with conventions in mind, a total of 46 suites can also be found on property.

As can be imagined with a resort of this size, it can take some time to walk from the farthest regions of the resort to the main area. Of course, Disney is not one to waste space so these walks can be extremely pleasant as they pass by the lake and other themed areas.

The front desk and most other services can be found at El Centro. This building serves as the hub for the resort as well as hosting the restaurants of Coronado Springs.

Those looking for a bite to eat at Coronado Springs will find a 420-seat Pepper Market quick service location. At the Pepper Market several stations can be found offering a wide variety of options.

As a moderate level resort, a sit-down restaurant is also offered at Coronado Springs. It is known as the Maya Grill and is said to offer Latino cuisine with a contemporary flair. Those looking for a third option might find the Cafe Rix eatery an option more to their liking.

If you are looking for something else to do while staying at the resort, consider taking a swim, going to the arcade or perhaps a boat or bike rental. The main pool is found at the Dig Site, complete with a Mayan pyramid and a 123-foot water slide. Three other pools may be found around other areas of the resort.

Buses to the four theme parks, the two water parks and Downtown Disney can all be found at El Centro.
