Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of the several deluxe level resorts available at Walt Disney World of Florida. The Beach Club opened on November 19, 1990, two weeks after its sister resort of the Yacht Club opened.

Like its sister resort Yacht Club, the Beach Club is designed with a New England style motif. However, whereas the Yacht Club takes on a nautical theme, the Beach Club of Disney World is designed more as a seaside experience. The two resorts are further differentiated by their exterior color schemes with the Yacht Club’s being gray, red and white and the Beach Club having a light blue and white palette.

Many of the amenities of the two-resorts are shared, however, this does not seem to detract from the overall experience. In fact, it probably even provides for more activities and options than if the two resorts had been built a part from each-other.

A perfect example of this is the pool complex known as Stormalong Bay. It is shared by both resorts and offers experiences not seen at other Disney World Resort Hotels. Aside from the sand-bottomed pools, guests can also enjoy a magnificent water slide protruding from the replica of a shipwreck. A calming lazy river may also be found at the complex.

Those looking for dining options will find plenty to choose from at the Beach Club. This includes the Beach Club Marketplace food court where everyone will find something to their liking. For sit-down experiences look for the Captain’s Grille known for its steaks and seafood or Cape May Cafe where Goofy and Friends can be met for a character breakfast buffet or find a sea-food buffet later in the day.

One would also be remiss if they failed to mention a popular favorite for dessert lovers – Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. This place is sure to have something to satisfy your cravings including a massive Kitchen Sink Sundae.

Of course, other options are also available at the resort including shopping, an arcade and even a health club. Several styles of boats are also available for rental at the Bayside Marina.

Despite all that the Beach Club has to offer within its boundaries, the best amenity of the resort is probably its location. It can be found literally just a few steps away from the International Gateway into Epcot. Disney’s Hollywood Studios can also be reached by a longer walk in the opposite direction or via the boat ferry. The other theme parks may be reached via the Disney World bus service.

Even if you do not stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, you really should take some time out of your Epcot day to scope out the nearby resort. You never know, you may fall in love with it and decide to stay there next time.
