While it may seem a bit early to some, both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California are on the verge of launching their respective annual festivities and decorations related to the upcoming holiday of Halloween. Now this will not only include special decorations seen throughout the parks, but it will also feature special activities and parties related to Halloween.
It will not be uncommon to find some of those special Halloween themed events and attractions at the other parks of Disney, but for the sake of this article, we will focus on just the Disneyland Park itself and the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World.
Disneyland officially launches its Halloween celebrations on September 16, 2011 through October 31, 2011. The park will be decked out in the appropriate decorations so expect to see plenty of orange and black!
Several attractions are modified during the holiday season such as Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday. However, when one thinks of Halloween events at Disneyland, most think of Mickey’s Halloween Party.
This is a hard ticket event requiring the purchase of a special ticket to attend. The party starts at either 6Pm or 7PM and run for five hours. Only a limited number of the tickets are sold typically resulting in shorter lines for some of your favorite attractions.
In addition, there are some features of the party not offered during the regular operating hours. For instance, guests in attendance are treated to a special Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular and they even have treat stations set up. Oh, and don’t forget, all guests are encouraged to dress up in costumes (check Disneyland for requirements).
Ticket prices for the event start at $49 when purchased in advance. Mickey’s Halloween Party is offered on the following dates: September 30, October 3, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28, 31.
Walt Disney World Halloween
At the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World, guests may purchase special tickets to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. As previously announced, the dates for this event are September 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 and October 2, 6, 7, 10, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 27, 28 30, 31 and November 1.
Tickets start at $53.95 for this event. The party runs from 7PM-12AM on the selected nights.
Those in attendance not only get access to most of their favorite attractions of the Magic Kingdom but get these special opportunities:
