Disneyland Has Special Holiday Events Too!

Most familiar with Disney think of Walt Disney World Resort for an elevated holiday experience. However, one would be remiss if they also did not include Disneyland Resort of California as a choice for giving guests an opportunity to experience true Christmas magic.

While it is true, Disneyland has neither the size nor the resources of its Florida counterpart, that does not mean it is any less special during the season. In fact, many prefer the special events of Disneyland over Disney World if for no other reason than it is the park that started it all.

Upon entering Disneyland, guests will immediately know it has been decked out for the season. Holiday decorations abound and a large Christmas Tree cannot be missed. Further into the park, in the evening guests will find that Sleeping Beauty Castle has been adorned with Christmas lights. A special “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks show is also offered.

Over at California Adventure, seasonal elements can also be found. Perhaps the newest is additions added to World of Color.

The resorts of Disneyland also add their special holiday flavor. In fact, many take time out of their trips to visit each resort to see the Christmas offerings.

Finally, Downtown Disney is not left out of the Christmas celebrations. An excellent example of this is TUBACHRISTMAS (an example video of a previous year’s show is offered above).

TUBACHRISTMAS at Disneyland this year will be offered on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Literally hundreds of tuba and euphonium players are gathered to play holiday music scored just for their instruments. The gathering is typically large with world records broken in the past by the number of players.

“It’s fun, it’s free, and you won’t see something like this in just any shopping mall,” said Event producer and Disneyland Resort Talent Booking and Casting Director, Stan Freese.

According to Disney, the record may again be broken this year by the number of attendees. Registered players are expected to include a vast array of ages including an 8-year old and an 82 year old. Surely, TUBACHRISTMAS is a must do if in the area.

Together, all of the seasonal offerings at Disneyland make it an excellent option for a Christmas trip with the family.
