Walt Disney World is once again going to be offering the Free Dining special for select package reservations valid on most late summer arrivals. Currently, the special is only being offered to Chase Disney Visa Card holders, but it is expected to go to the general public beginning next week.

Valid arrivals for the free dining begins on August 28, 2011 and run through September 24, 2011, a slightly shorter period than when the special was first offered last year. Those familiar with the crowd patterns of Disney World will note that this is typically one of the slowest times of the year for the parks which makes it a great time to visit if you can fit it into your schedule.

The weather still tends to be on the warm side with highs typically approaching 90 degrees and lows in the 70’s. Frequent rain showers can be seen during September  just like other summer months, but usually pass through very quickly.

The free dining special package offered this year is slightly different than in the past in that the package now includes a Disney PhotoPass® Photobook. This 20-page photobook can be designed by the guest and will be printed by Disney as a way to preserve the memories of your visit.

Other than the photobook, the other package details are basically the same. Those booking a qualifying package at a Disney Value Resort will receive the Quick Service Dining Package at no additional charge. Those booking at a Disney Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa will receive the Disney Dining Plan.  Details of each are found below:

  • Disney Quick Service Dining Plan – This plan includes two quick service meals and two snacks per person (age 3 and over) per night of qualified reservation. Also included is one refillable resort drink mug per person. A quick service location typically are those sites where guests stand in line to order their food and take it with them to a table to eat.
  • Disney Dining Plan – This plan includes one table service meal, one quick service meal and one snack per person per night of qualified reservation. Table service locations are typically the sit-down restaurants where a cast member takes your order and brings your food to you.

Packages are valid for most 5-night/6-day or longer stays during the special window. Listed prices start at $1605 for a family of four (two adults, one junior, and one child). Contact your travel agent or Disney to book!
