Along with the dates recently given for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Walt Disney World has also recently announced the dates in which it will hold Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year at the Magic Kingdom.
In total, the special event party will be held on nineteen select nights of November and December 2011 including November 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 18, 27, 29, 30 and December 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16 and 18. Guests wishing to attend the event will need to purchase special tickets as normal park entry tickets will not be valid for they party.
Probably the best feature offered to those attending the party is the limited number of tickets that are sold by Disney. This typically means a lower crowd level than seen in the Magic Kingdom during normal park hours. Less people in the park usually means easier access to your favorite rides and attractions which remain open in addition to the other special amenities offered by Disney during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
One of the most popular of these is the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade which even concludes with a visit by Santa Claus himself. Of course, he is joined in the parade by the other Disney characters in full holiday swing.
Speaking of the characters, guests are also offered the chance for Meet-and-Greets with many of them, once again with typically less waiting time than would be seen on a normal park day. Those wait times are also made easier by free cookies and hot cocoa offered in the park during the party.
Those not wanting to miss out on fireworks will want to take in a viewing of Holiday Wishes: Celebrate the Spirit of the Season. This special fireworks show is offered each night during the party.
Another spectacular thing to see during the party is the enchanted Castle Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle. These lights definitely give the castle a holiday feel and are joined by “snow” falling on Main Street to put one in the mood.
Guests may be purchased in advance for the party nights for $56.95 for adults and $51.95 for kids aged 3-10. Ticket prices go up if not purchased in advance and are known to sell-out, so if you plan on going, consider purchasing them know from Disney or through your travel agent.
