Disney To Offer Refunds To Baby Einstein Purchasers

The Disney Company announced an expansion of its refund policy for those who purchased Baby Einstein video products frm June 5, 2004 to September 4th of this year.

While not confirmed by Disney, this is suspected by many to be a response to a threat of litigation by lawyers for a group called Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.  The group has had issues for years with the Einstein products which advertised benefits for toddlers who viewed them, when no scientific evidence could be found to support such a claim.

Under the terms of the refund policy, those who purchased a DVD during the qualifying time frame may get a cash refund or exchange them for a Baby Einstein book or music cd, or they may opt for 25% off of a Little Einstein product.

Disney bought the Einstein franchise from founder Julie Ainger-Clark in 2001.
