Last week, Disney announced a new campaign theme for its domestic parks for the year of 2013. The new theme is entitled “Limited Time Magic” and will officially start in January.
Under the new campaign, each week will offer a new theme for the parks. These themes will range in subject complexity, but will also last for just one week.
Disney touts the new campaign with:
“Every week, Limited Time Magic will surprise and delight you in fanciful and unexpected ways. New entertainment, a special culinary treat or an imaginative encounter will pop up—and then disappear just as the next opportunity arises.”
Several examples have been offered by Disney to entice guests to come to the theme parks. One such example may occur during the week of Valentine’s Day. For the entire week, the castles may be adorned in a pink hue and surprise meet-and-greets with Disney princes and princesses may be offered along with candlelit dinners for couples.
Another week may offer the chance to see “Long Lost Friends.” These friends are those Disney characters that have gained a loyal following but are not typically seen in the parks. Examples include Flik, Clarabelle Cow, Remy, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Disney even indicates that guests may have the chance to vote on which characters they would like to see in the parks during the week.
In keeping with the popularity of the pirate theme in recent years, a Pirate’s Week also appears likely. Bands adorned in appropriate costumes may appear and meet and greets with Jack Sparrow are likely.
With fifty-two weeks in the year, a lot of options are likely to be available for those guests planning a trip. Unfortunately, it may add some complexities to the vacation planning process as one determines when to go. Still, the ever-changing theme does increase the chance that something unique will be offered no matter what time of year you decide to visit.
Additional details on “Limited Time Magic” will be offered by Disney as the new year approaches.
