An announced on All Things Mouse back in May, the premier night of Walt Disney World’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is tomorrow, September 14, 2010.

The special event has become extremely popular with many Disney guests, so much so in fact that Disney World has scheduled a total of twenty-four of the parties between now and the 1st of November.  In fact, more of the Halloween parties are scheduled than Disney has slated for the other popular seasonal bash, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party which is held in November and December.

Guests willing to spend the $50-plus for each ticket to attend the event will be entitled to enter the Magic Kingdom at 7Pm when the party begins and stay through its end at 12AM.  During this five hours, many special opportunities will be offered to attendees. Disneyland and California Adventure park operating hours for July 2010 are now available and offered for you below. These hours will help those planning a summer trip to the West Coast parks identify which dates might be most beneficial for them and their families.

Readers will notice that park hours for both Disneyland and California Adventure are extended more than normal. This is due mostly to the fact that summer months are typically busier. The new World of Color at California Adventure (which shows at night) may have also affected the hours.

As Disneyland tends to be more of a "local park" in that more Californians visit, the company does not release park hours very far in advance – typically only a month and a half in advance, or so. That is why you are only getting the July park hours now.

We have noted Morning Magic Hours in the calendar with "MMH." Those unfamiliar with Morning Magic Hours may recall it as "Early Entry" if they visited Disneyland in years past. It is similar to the "Extended Magic Hours" offered at Walt Disney World, but differs in a few respects.

Few Walt Disney World attractions are more under appreciated by the common Disney guest than Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress located in Tomorrowland of the Magic Kingdom. The Carousel not only provides a welcome air-conditioned respite from the hustle and bustle of the crowds, but also provides a glimpse into the mind of the man who really created the entire empire – Walt Disney.

To start at the beginning, Disney was asked by General Electric (GE) to design an attraction for their pavilion at the upcoming 1964 New York World’s Fair.  For a few years before that, Walt had been toying with the idea of chronicling the rise of technology over the last century as it related to a family, and what better way to pay for it than with a sponsor like GE.

Intent on trying to provide a new experience for the guests, Disney demanded that new technology created by his company be used in the attraction.  Known as audio-animatronics, these mechanical devices were created to resemble life-like characters including humans and animals.  Walt had been perfecting the technology first introduced in his Enchanted Tiki Room and improved for another World’s Fair attraction Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln which featured an audio-animatronic of past President of the United States Abraham Lincoln (Walt’s favorite president). One of the most recent attractions to open in Walt Disney World is Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. This attraction takes off on the premise and characters established in the Disney Pixar movie Monsters, Inc.

Mike Wazowski, a main character from the movie, is opening a comedy club of sorts in this 400-seat Tomorrowland Theater.  Here he hopes to capture enough laugh energy from the audience to fuel his hometown of Monstropolis.  You see, they have figured out how to harness the power of laughter.

To accomplish this, Mike, as the monster of ceremonies, enlists the help of several other monsters as well as guests in the audience. Using some classic comedy routines as well as anything else they can think of, laughter is quickly forthcoming. Slapstick is even included. Continue reading “Magic Kingdom’s Monsters, Inc. Welcome to our brand new site – All Things Mouse.

As we have long enjoyed many things that Disney has brought to us over the years, we thought it was time to share with the rest of the world.

Walt Disney once said:

"I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained."

This is the philosophy we have here. While you will hopefully find the information we provide informative, our effort is to make it interesting so that you can share in our fun.

Possible topics for the site are:

- Theme Parks – including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disney and Disneyland Paris

- Entertainment – including movies, television, radio, websites, etc.

- Cruise Ships – including the Wonder, Magic, Dream, Fantasy (and also Castaway Cay)

- Corporate – including business information, websites, new ventures, etc.

Once again, welcome to the site. Enjoy!
