With the recent mention of the current Walt Disney World Special Offers on All Things Mouse, it would probably be a good time to mention some of the current Disneyland Special Offers.
Top of the list is a Buy 3, Get 2 free offer. Under this special, those booking a qualifying room and ticket package of 3 nights can get 2 nights added on for no additional charge. The special applies to the Disneyland Resort Hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and Disneys Grand Californian Hotel & Spa) and many of the Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotels.
The special offer also includes a bonus of 2 additional park days along with the 2 free nights. This equates out to 5 nights of hotel room and 5 days of park access for the normal price of 3 nights and 3 days. Qualifying packages must be booked by September 1st for arrivals no later than September 26, 2010. [click to continue…]
The park operating hours for Disneyland and California Adventure have been released for September 2010. The hours will come in handy for those individuals who are planning a trip there next month. Of course, hours have become slightly more limited as the crowd levels will be more manageable with school back in session.
The relatively new water / lights / sound / video show known as World of Color in California Adventure appears to be scheduled nightly, which is good as it has proven extremely popular with guests.
Morning Magic Hours are noted in the calendar with "MMH." Those who have visited Disneyland in the past may recognize the format as the previous "Early Entry." Walt Disney World patrons will find it is similar to the morning "Extended Magic Hours" offered there. However, there are a few requirements to keep in mind.
The new lights, water, video and music extravaganza known as World of Color at Disney’s California Adventure has proven extremely popular with the west coast theme park guests.
So much so, in fact, that Disney announced today that they are adding another show to the nightly line-up of World of Color offerings. This brings the total to three giving guests several opportunities a night to take in the new attraction.
World of Color premiered just last month and has proven to really be a new favorite among the guests of California Adventure. Many report that the theme park appears to have been given a second life with this new show along with several other changes completed or in the works. [click to continue…]

Disneyland and California Adventure have released their park operating hours for August 2010. These hours are available a bit earlier than typical for the West Coast parks, but potential summer vacationers are likely to be happy to see them.
The new World of Color at California Adventure appears to still be favorably affecting that parks hours with evening shows keeping the park open later than typically seen. Of course, the summer attendance has something to do with that as well.

Disney’s World of Color made its official debut to the public yesterday at Disney’s California Adventure. The new nighttime show utilizes a plethora of technologies to bring it to life on select nights at the theme park.
It is the culmination of years of work under the watchful eye of Walt Disney Creative Entertainment, the arm of the company responsible for creating many of the shows seen throughout the Disney theme park properties.
Utilizing over a thousand water fountains with integrated lighting, lasers, fire and projected video, the show takes the older and better known nighttime show of Fantasmic up a notch. Of course, the creation of Fantasmic (both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World version), probably did not have the back-end resources that were applied to the World of Color creation.
The new attraction is part of a $1.2 billion renovation that Disney’s California Adventure is currently in the middle of. It was undertaken to increase interest in the park which despite being just steps away from Disneyland sees only about a third of Disneyland’s visitors.
Undoubtedly on the drawing board for long before, work on the show itself began in November of 2008 when the Paradise Bay was drained of its water to allow the installation of the massive system of jets and lights that would eventually be covered over with water when the Bay was once again refilled. Testing of the structure began in January of 2010.
Now, last night it was opened to the public for the first time. The previous night, the show was held, but was seen more as a red carpet event (actually blue carpet was used by Disney). Celebrities including Jamie Lee Curis, Geena Davis & Teri Hatcher were in attendance for the preview.
Comments on the new show are mostly positive and it should prove to be a huge draw for the struggling park.

In a move that is sure to bring a smile to many faces (if not a joyous scream), Disney has announced that the Disneyland Park will host Mickey’s Halloween Party on select evenings this fall.
Disney is no stranger to Halloween activities – take Walt Disney World, for example. It has long run the very successful Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom.
Even celebrating the event at Disneyland is not new. Parties were held at the original Disney Park for years before they were moved across the promenade to Disney’s California Adventure in 2005. Now they have returned to Disneyland which is sure to be a big hit with Disney patrons.
