Those interested in taking a cruise aboard the Disney Cruise Lines may also be interested to know that the company has made some changes to the kids programming available onboard.
Previously, activities available were grouped by the age of the child, instead of their interest in an activity. This is no longer the case, now children can choose which activities they would like to take part in, regardless of their age.
“The changes within Disney Cruise Line youth activities will allow children freedom to create a customized experience onboard our ships,” said Disney Cruise Line Vice President of Entertainment Jim Urry. “Children can select their own adventures and immersive experiences for a truly personalized, memorable cruise vacation.” [click to continue…]
As reported a few weeks ago, the new Disney Cruise ship known as the Disney Dream is due to set sail in January of 2011.
As we also informed you, the ship is going to be home for a first in the cruise industry, a water coaster called the AquaDuck. The 765 foot long flume takes adventurous individuals (48″ and taller) in a clear acrylic tube ride that starts on the 12th deck. After barreling over the edge of the ship, the ride deposits the raft in a lazy river.

The Disney Cruise Line has released some details for its new cruise ship called the Disney Dream due to set sail in January of 2011. Many features are slated to be integrated into this new ship, with several of them new to the industry in general.
One of these unique experiences is called the AquaDuck. It is the first water coaster ever aboard a cruise ship. The ride is said to be 765 feet long and 4 decks high. Details state it will jog out from the ship 13 feet where the tube will be 150 feet above the water.

The addition of two new cruise ships (Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy) to the Disney Cruise Line roster is apparently going to offer prospective cruisers a choice in destinations never before seen from the company.
The Disney Dream is scheduled to be in service in 2011 with the Disney Fantasy following in 2012. Both ships will operate out of Port Canaveral until at least 2014, freeing up the current vessels (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) to sail to destinations yet unexplored by mouse-lovers.
Alaska has already been announced aboard the Disney Wonder with 18 cruises scheduled for the summer of 2011 between May 11th and August 30th. Rates for Alaska are not going to be cheap as they start out at $939 per person based on double occupancy for an inside cabin, and that is before taxes and fees. [click to continue…]
