Effective October 31, 2013, all of the restaurants of the Walt Disney World Resort have instituted a new Advanced Reservation Dining Policy. This new policy applies to all of the on-site restaurants which accept reservations via Disney.

The long and short of it is a $10 per guest charge if a reservation is not cancelled at least one day in advance. Pre-paid restaurant reservations (such as for dinner shows) will be charged the full amount if cancellation is not made prior to the 24-hour period.

The official release from Disney is offered below:

Effective for dining reservations booked beginning October 31, 2013 this policy will be in effect at ALL table service restaurants.

Guests will be required to provide a credit card for all table service reservations. A charge of $10 per guests will then be automatically applied if a cancellation is not provided at least one day in advance.

In the case of pre-paid restaurants and venues such as dinner shows, the entire amount will be retained in the event of failing to cancel. The new policy applies to non-Disney operated restaurants as well.

Cancellations can be made on the Disney Dining website, at guest relations, a restaurant podium, or via a special phone number at 407-WDW-CNCL. To avoid the penalty, the cancellation must be made up to 11:59pm on the day before the reservation.

For more information on this new dining reservation policy, please contact Disney or your travel agent.

If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, remember, the operating hours for the theme parks are offered here on All Things Mouse via the Disney Park Hours Page.
