Snow Stormers of Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park in Walt Disney World is another “competitive” water slide offered at the park. It consists of three slalom-style racing slides allowing you and two others to race to the bottom to see who wins.

Snow Stormers requires you to grab a toboggan-style mat before heading to your respective slide launch point. Once at the launch point, you lay stomach down on the mat and prepare for your race against your two fellow competitors. Continue reading “Disney’s Blizzard Beach Snow Stormers Review and Video” »

Downhill Double Dipper of Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park in Walt Disney World is a race of sorts pitting you against another individual as you slide down the water slide on your inner tube. This can be great fun especially if you have a few competitive spirits in your group.

Downhill Double Dipper was built to resemble an Olympic style down-hill ski race complete with starting gates and a time clock to track who won the race. But of course, as it is located in Blizzard Beach of Walt Disney World instead of in the mountains, this race places you on a surface of water (with inner tube) instead of snow! The March 2012 Operating Park Hours Schedule for Disneyland and California Adventure is now available for the entire month and offered below. As March is a big month for spring breaks, these hours will come in handy for those thinking of a trip to the west coast theme parks during such a break.

Of course, it also means that crowd levels can be more significant on those weekends as many others also take advantage of the extra days off from school. However, it can still be a great time to go as the Disneyland Resort offers many opportunities helping to keep the crowd levels manageable.

One such example is extended park hours. If you look at the calendar below, you will notice that the last three weeks, Disneyland is operating basically from 8AM-12AM every single day. This means you will have more time to fit in your plans.

Morning Magic Hours for Disneyland are offered on the calendar below. Those unfamiliar with Morning Magic Hours may have heard of Disney World’s similar Extra Magic Hours. However, unlike Disney World, the MMH at Disneyland are offered only on select mornings and never in the evening. Additional details of MMH include:

  • MMH is only offered at Disneyland – California Adventure does not participate in the offering.
  • MMH only occurs on select days, typically Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
  • MMH is available with select tickets and packages, but not necessarily tied to a room reservation. For instance, guests buying a 3,4 or 5-day park hopper from the Disneyland website are usually offered one admission to the Morning Magic Hour.
  • Those staying on-property at one of the Disneyland Resorts (Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian or Paradise Pier) usually get entrance to any MMH just by showing their room card.
  • Valid park admission for the day is required to utilize the MMH option.
  • Only certain Disneyland attractions are open for MMH.
  • for more details – see the Disneyland website.

Special event times can be found on Disneyland’s website or on the park maps available when you enter the park.

If you are interested in the Park Hours for other months or for those of Walt Disney World, we have them available on the All Things Mouse Park Hours page!

Operating Park Hours for the theme parks of Walt Disney World for the month of September 2012 are now available. This includes the hours for Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

For those who are able, September is a great month to visit Walt Disney World. The weather tends to be on the warm side but crowd levels are typically low as kids head back to school. One may have to contend with an occasional rain shower, but often those are short-lived and easy to plan around.

Slush Gusher of Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park in Walt Disney World is a single-person body slide that offers a very unique ride down from the top of Mount Gushmore. While perhaps not as exciting as other water slides, Slush Gusher still should be added to your list of to-do’s for any visit to Blizzard Beach.

Slush Gusher starts near the top of Mount Gushmore. Once there, you assume the usual position for water slides before a gate opens allowing you to accelerate your way down to the bottom. Along the way, expect some level areas before additional drops. These drops allow the rider to achieve a bit of “air time” if all of the conditions are right.
