Walt Disney World Resort of Florida has released the Operating Park Hours for the four theme parks and two water parks of the resort for the month of April 2012. These April 2012 Operating Hours cover the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

The major holiday scheduled to occur during April 2012 happens to be Easter which falls on April 8, 2012. Typically, crowd levels surge around the holiday as families take advantage of school breaks related to Easter. To accommodate the larger crowds, Disney has added extended hours for the first week of the month. Other than that short time frame, crowd levels tend to be more reasonable during the rest of the month making it a great time to visit Walt Disney World.

The second moderate level resort to open in Walt Disney World of Florida was actually originally two separate entities but today basically operates as one Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. This short review and video will hopefully give you an idea of Port Orleans and whether or not it would fit into your vacation plans.

The first section of present-day Port Orleans opened on May 17, 1991 as the French Quarter. It followed the first moderate Disney resort of the Caribbean Beach by two and a half years. However, it was followed itself by the second half of the present-day Port Orleans Resort which originally opened as the Dixie Landings Resort a few months later on February 2, 1992.

Disney Cruise to Hawaii (Disney Cruise Image)The Disney Cruise Line announced plans yesterday to add a another voyage to Hawaii. This means a total of two Hawaiian cruises are now planned by the Disney Cruise Lines for the 50th state out of the west coast of the United States in 2012.

The addition of this second Hawaiian cruise shows that customers must be booking the first scheduled Hawaii trip in decent numbers to justify adding a second itinerary to the islands. In fact, Disney executives stated as much in their comments included with the release about the second voyage: Continue reading “Disney Cruise Plans Second Voyage to Hawaii” »
