One of the most intense attractions that can be experienced in the Animal Kingdom (and all of Disney World for that matter) is the ride known as Dinosaur. As will be indicated by this review and video, the ride is not for the easily frightened, those afraid of the dark or those who can’t handle bumps and jerks to their body. These people will instead want to head to the much milder Triceratop Spin.

Dinosaur is located in the DinoLand U.S.A. section of the Animal Kingdom which is fitting as the complete ride revolves around dinosaurs. It opened on April 22, 1998 along with the park itself. However, it should be noted that when it originally did open it was called Countdown to Extinction. Continue reading “Disney’s Animal Kingdom Dinosaur Review and Video” »

If there are young ones in your group (and this includes those young at heart), you will definitely not want to miss the Triceratop Spin in the Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World as it is sure to be a hit. Not that the ride is particularly enthralling, it is just that it serves as a passable likeness of the more popular Dumbo the Flying Elephant Ride found in the Magic Kingdom.

However, where the lines at the Dumbo ride are almost always close to unbearable, the lines at this Triceratop Spin are typically quite manageable. Now of course, Disney purists will always want to ride Dumbo, but for those just looking for the circular “flying” experience, then this hub and spoke Triceratop Spin is just for them. Walt Disney World of Florida has announced the 2011 line-up of narrators for the holiday season’s Candlelight Processional to be held in Epcot. This annual event draws thousands and has become a traditional event to attend for many families.

The Candlelight Processional is typically held from late November through late December in the American Gardens Theater by the American Adventure Pavilion of Epcot. It combines the talents of a guest narrator with a mass choir and orchestra to tell the story of the nativity along with many holiday carols. Walt Disney World Operating Park Hours for January 2012 are now available here on All Things Mouse.

These hours will be of interest to those planning a trip to Disney World in January of 2012 as they will help for scheduling any dining reservations that you may need to make at the all important 180-day out window. Of course, they will also be invaluable to anyone planning a trip to the Florida theme park resort area to help in deciding on which parks to visit which days.

January is typically a great time to visit Disney World as crowd levels tend to be light. Of course, this is owed somewhat to the fact that it can be colder at times but it is owed mostly to the fact that many kids are in school with no sizeable breaks after having their long Christmas vacation.

One of the smaller and perhaps more overlooked attractions of the Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World is Primeval Whirl. This small roller coaster is located in the DinoLand U.S.A. section of Animal Kingdom and offers a quick spinning coaster for those that are up to it!

However, just because Primeval Whirl is relatively small does not mean that it is without its share of thrills. Anyone who has ventured onto it will tell of the unexpected spins and twists that make each and every ride on the roller coaster unique from the previous one. In recent history, thrill seekers at Walt Disney World have probably not been more excited than when Expedition Everest opened in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. Their anticipation for the arrival of the roller coaster met with satisfaction for many as they first experienced the ride when it had its grand opening on April 7, 2006.

Several years later, the ride still satisfies most seeking some additional excitement in the Animal Kingdom. In fact, the ride is so popular that it is not uncommon for all of the FASTPASSES for the roller-coaster for the day to be claimed by late morning.
