While not typically offering the excitement found on the Kali River Rapids, the Maharajah Jungle Trek located in the same Asia section called Anandapur of Disney’s Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World as the rapids is nonetheless worth a few minutes of your precious vacation time to explore.

Guests opting to walk the 2000 ft walking trail will be treated to some of the more exotic creatures found on the Asian continent including Bengal Tigers, Komodo Dragons, Blood Pythons and even Malayan Flying Fox. Don’t worry, though, Disney is not about to lose a guest in these encounters so you are protected at all times from the more dangerous creatures even though Disney Imagineering does quite a nice job of hiding that protection. One of the most exciting adventures offered at Disney’s Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World has to be Kali River Rapids. If it is not the most exciting, it definitely the wettest experience you can have there (with the possible exception of those unexpected intense rain showers that pass through the area).

Kali River Rapids is located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom which is to the back and the right after you enter the park. Now the ride can be popular which may lead you to consider running right to it first thing, but you will want to remember that you WILL get wet so there may be other things on your agenda to get out of the way first. Unfortunately, one of the most overlooked attractions in Disney’s Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World is Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Those who do take the time to visit this section of the theme park are treated to not only a behind the scenes look at Disney World’s fourth theme park, but are also given the chance to be educated a bit on the park and the animals which inhabit it.

To get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, guests must find the Harambe Train Station located on the east side of the Harambe Village. They board the train there for a short 5.5 minute ride to the location of the attraction.

December 2011 Walt Disney World Operating Park Hours are now available for all four of the Florida based theme parks. This will definitely come as welcome news to those who are planning a Christmas trip to the world as they can now better decide on a strategy for their visit.

Christmas is one of the busiest (if not the busiest) times of the year for Disney World with crowd levels even reaching capacity at times. This does not mean it is not a great time to visit, however. For one thing, many families can more easily plan a trip over Christmas break when their kids are not in school. For another, Disney World offers those who come a special holiday feel as the parks and the resorts are all decked out.

Disneyland and California Adventure now have their complete Operating Park Hours available for June 2011. These hours are offered to you in two different formats below – a calendar view showing both parks and a list view by day with the parks separated.

June tends to be a popular time at Disneyland since most schools are off for summer break, but the crowds do not tend to swell like they do at Walt Disney World. Still, the operating park hours for June 2011 shown will offer those guests planning a trip the chance to determine which days might be best for them to go.

Shown on the calendar below are the hours for both parks as well as the Morning Magic Hours (MMH) for Disneyland. Those unfamiliar with Morning Magic Hours may have heard of Disney World’s similar Extra Magic Hours. However, unlike Disney World, the MMH at Disneyland are offered only on select mornings and never in the evening. Additional details of MMH include:

Just around the corner from Kilimanjaro Safaris® in Disney’s Animal Kingdom of Walt Disney World is the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. This unique self-guided walking tour offers guests a glimpse of many of the creatures one might find in Africa.

Start off your African animal introductory walk in the Research Station. This housed location offers guests a chance to look at some naked mole rats and usually has a cast member there to answer any questions. From there, you walk through a free-flight aviary and are treated to an aquarium, both filled with creatures indigenous to Africa.

Don’t think your walk is over, however (remember it is three-eights of a mile total) because just up ahead is the hippopotamus exhibit. Most of the time these massive hippos are seen lounging about in the water, but at times you may get a chance to catch them up out of that small pool.
