The Operating Park Hours for Walt Disney World Resort are now available for the month of July 2011. These hours will definitely be of use to those planning a summer vacation to the land of the mouse, especially those wanting to make dining reservations at Disney World as you need to consider the 180+ window of booking those reservations.
Park hours are offered below for all four theme parks of Disney World including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. We also have hours for the two Disney World Water Parks of Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, but they are relatively simple. They appear to be operating from 9AM-7PM on July 1 and 2, then switching to 9AM-8PM the rest of the month.
To find Park Hours for other months, see the All Things Mouse Disney Park Hours page. Disneyland Hours are also available there.
Guests at Walt Disney World in Florida or Disneyland in California over the holidays will have the opportunity to save some cash on dining if they are willing to eat during the off-times.
That is because Disney is offering a 30% discount voucher for multiple dining locations throughout the parks. However, the voucher is only good for meals purchased before Noon or between the hours of 3 PM and 4:30 PM. Alcohol is excluded.
Disney is making the offer as a way to ease the congestion in the restaurants during the peak times in what is definitely a peak season. The week between Christmas and New Year’s is perhaps the busiest one can experience in the parks as many take their holiday vacations during that time when their children are on Christmas break. With Christmas just two days away, those who suffer from a form Disney addiction will want to make sure to set aside some time on Christmas Day to watch the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade on ABC. If you are unable to watch it live, perhaps it would be worth taping as it is sure to offer a Disney fix to those who need it.
The Parade is an annual tradition which goes back twenty-seven years to 1983. Of course, the format has changed several times, but that does not mean the festive tradition is any less inviting.
Originally, the parade aired live, but now ABC and Disney tape the event. In fact, the shown footage is actually a compilation of several days worth of taping which occurred earlier in November and December. This allows the televised version to offer several unique entertainment experiences that would be harder to line-up on a single day, much less Christmas Day. For many arrivals between January 1 – 5, January 9 – 13, January 21 – February 3, February 11 – 17, February 25 – March 3, May 27 – June 2 and August 19 – September 29, Disney is willing to give guests free dining for those that book qualifying packages. To qualify, the packages must include both room and ticket options.
Those that do qualify and book at a value resort will get the free Disney Quick Service Dining Plan which includes two quick service meals and two snacks per day. Also included in this package is one free refillable Disney Resort Mug per person in the package. Disney has officially announced the last day for Mickey’s ToonTown Fair to be February 11, 2011. After that time, construction on the Fantasyland expansion (which is already underway) will overtake the ToonTown section.
The demolition of ToonTown in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World was previously announced as part of the revitalization of Fantasyland announced in September of 2009. What was unknown, up until now, was the last date in which guests would be able to enjoy the area themed for the little ones.
Mickey’s ToonTown Fair originally opened on June 18, 1988 and was called Mickey’s Birthdayland. It was re-designated on May 26, 1990 to Mickey’s Starland. Finally, it was changed to its current name on October 1, 1996. Throughout all of these incarnations, the area was directed towards the toddler in the family, but offered up enough fun for the entire family.
